How Two Parrots Became a Family
One thing in nature that I noticed recently was my friend’s pet parrots. When my friend first bought them, she had only two baby parrots. One was green and the other was blue. They were both very small and cute. It has been two years now, and I was surprised to find out that she now has 13 parrots!
Every time I go to my friend’s house, I see all the parrots together on the side of her house. They are always chirping, eating food, and moving around together. It almost feels like they are one big family.
At first, I could not even tell which parrots were the parents and which were the babies. Most of them looked almost exactly the same. They looked like copies of each other. When I looked more closely, I noticed that the parents were a little taller than the younger ones. Most of the parrots are green, but there is also one really pretty parrot that has both blue and green colors.
I also still cannot remember which one is a boy or a girl. My friend has told me their genders many times, but I always forget. I also gave up trying to remember all their names. What I find funny is that my friend gave them Indian names, almost like they are people. Most people give pets names based on fruits, sweets, or cute things, but she gave her parrots names that sound like human names.
Seeing all 13 parrots together made me think about how life works. My friend started with just two small parrots, and now there is a whole family. The two original parrots grew up, had babies, and their family kept growing.
It reminded me of people too. Humans also grow up, have families, have children, and watch their children grow. Then those children grow up and have families of their own. The cycle keeps going.
I have always thought that humans and animals are very different. But when I watched these parrots, I started thinking about how similar we can be in some ways. We all grow, change, live together, and become part of a family.
I had seen these parrots many times before, but I never really thought about what they could teach me. They were just birds that I saw at my friend’s house. This time, I looked at them differently.
Those two tiny parrots became 13 birds living together. It made me realize that life can change slowly without us noticing. Sometimes, we just have to stop and look closely to see how much has changed.
The parrots taught me that life is like a cycle. It starts small, grows bigger, changes over time, and continues with the next generation.
